We support a number of educational establishments across the north east, developing curriculums, training teachers and delivering projects with young people.
Our popular Sylvan holiday activity clubs run most school holidays and offer 7 hours of woodland adventures.
Our family and adult activity weekends challenge the most adventurous to survive in the wild, while learning how to thrive in the outdoors.
Our holiday activity clubs book up quickly! We provide seven hours of outdoor activities and woodland skills at a range of schools and woodland sites. Our activity clubs aim to reconnect young people with nature and the outdoors. We run all year round, no matter the weather and there isn’t a screen in sight!
Book NowWe support a range of primary and secondary schools across Yorkshire and the North East, working with staff to plan and deliver high quality and ambitious curriculum projects. We can help develop school sites, work with key groups and offer alternative provision, as well as working with whole classes.
Our offersA connection with nature is vital for us all. If we are to help protect and improve biodiversity in our wild places, we need to feel a connection with it. We believe this can be achieved through the development of traditional woodland skills and a better understanding of the flora an fauna around us.
Simply taking a walk in nature can have a significant impact upon your mental health and well being. At Sylvan Lore, we believe that purposeful activities and the development of new skills and knowledge increases the benefit tenfold. It is our aim for our participants to feel comfortable and confident in the outdoors.
Whether we are working with young people or adults, memories are made from overcoming challenges, working as a team and stepping outside your comfort zone. At Sylvan Lore, we pride ourselves on getting the balance right between challenge and success.
David is delivering a project on our behalf, empowering children from one of our most disadvantaged communities to connect with nature and develop essential skills that are vital for their health, wellbeing and development. His deep passion for nature and the outdoors, coupled with his extensive educational experience, is having a meaningful impact on both pupils and teaching staff. David’s contribution is pivotal to the success of this project. Working with Sylvan Lore has been a pleasure and I would highly recommend their services or activities.
David brings out the best in children, he has them engaged naturally, empowering them to make decisions and explore ideas.
This has been so much more than a source of entertainment for my son. On day one, although desperate to attend, my son sat in my car crippled with anxiety. In a matter of minutes, David was able to reassure my son and had him joining the group. He followed through with his reassurance and by day three my son was facing fears without giving it a second thought.
I believe my son has attended a total of 10 sessions with David and is going to be joining him this summer. When I asked him what he loved about his time with David, he said it was because David listened and asked them what they wanted (which is something that is missing in education today).
He also said he loves the freedom, the carving, the archery, the hot chocolates and especially he loves the s’mores!
I am so grateful for my son having had this experience, it has given him confidence in a new found interest, with a fantastic male role model leading the way.
I highly recommend Sylvan Lore!
Both children absolutely loved their time with you & can’t wait until Next time! Thank you for creating such a wonderful learning environment for them!
